Sustainability
Sustainabilty is the main focus point of our company. Not only do we want to be unique through our amazing designs and product quality but we want to be unique in a way that helps even the people that aren't our customers. The clothing industry is one of the most harmful industries in the world thanks to the large use of plastics, low recyclability of products and high waste amounts in production. At Woop Online Stores we are different though. We only use recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable materials and have minimized our production waste to incomparable levels relative to other clothing brands.
Materials: Our products are made from either purely organic materials, purely reclycled materials, or a mixture of both. We use mostly recycled polyesters and nylons for our hoodies, jackets, and pants, with some organic cotton mixed in to those while for shirts we use 100% organic cotton.
Packaging: Our packagins is made from 90-100% recycled plastics. This not only helps by using waste and providing a second use to it but because we do not have to produce these plastics. Producing plastics, or any sort of product will require energy, a space to produce it and people that need to travel to that space in order to produce it. This creates a lot of emissions that can be avoided by using recycled materials.
Production: In production all of our fabrics are cut in the most efficient ways possible, this allows us to make the same products out of the least material possible. All of our fabric scraps are made into headbands and scrunchies since they are small enough to be created from them. Our printers for our DTG (Direct to Garment) designs use no water, as well as being the most efficient printers in the industry, learn more about them here. Traditionally, textile processing amounts to 20% of earth's water pollution. That is not a sustainable path, therefore here at Woop Online Stores we are glad to say that we do not contribute to that 20%.
Delivery / Shipping: Around 80% of our orders are delivered in the same region they’re fulfilled. Having fulfillment centers close to our customers is good both for the business and the planet. Strategically located fulfillment centers allow for faster shipping times and lower shipping costs, and it also helps with reducing the CO₂ emissions produced when transporting orders. Which is super important to us as the clothing industry amounts to 10% of worldwide CO₂ emissions. That's why we focus on reducing them on each aspect of our company. We also offset all emissions on our US domestic orders. We are working on expanding that to all worldwide orders.
